So last week I went to Israel which has been really difficult to describe.
It was a great holiday, but not a sit-on-the-beach-and-look-at-your-feet holiday.
It was a week-long history lesson but so it should be. It is quite an important country.
It was a coach tour, which always makes me think of saga holidays, but then it has to be. If you're not obviously a tourist in Palestine then you're likely to be in trouble. My luggage was searched enough as is. And apparently the stamped passport will cause problems. Ho hum.
Saying all this though, I'm thrilled that I went and learnt so much that I hope I remember.
One of many standout moments was here.
This is the Jezreel Plain, the site of many famous battles and the possible home of Gideon. It's surrounded by the West Bank, Lower Galilee, Samaria and the Jordan Valley. The photo was taken from a fortress at the top called Tel Megiddo, which led to the creation of the word, yep, you guessed it, Armageddon. Gulp.
